Mail-in ballots in Nevada can be counted several days after Election Day, a court has ruled

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – The Nevada Supreme Court is allowing absentee ballots to be counted three days after Election Day.

Members The RNC sued the Secretary of State for allegedly violating federal law and undermining the integrity of the state’s elections.

The RNC did not want ballots received days after Election Day to be counted.

The RNC argued: “Republican voters vote by mail at a much lower rate than Democratic voters. “Thus, counting allegedly invalid absentee ballots received after Election Day would benefit Democratic candidates at the expense of Republican candidates.”

The Supreme Court found that the RNC’s argument lacked merit and presented no evidence.

The Supreme Court reported that only 24 absentee ballots received without postmarks were received in Clark County after the 2024 primary election.

Officials believe there is no suspicion of an impact on the 2024 general election.

Election day is November 5.
