SAN FRANCISCO – Stephen Curry will miss at least the next two games for the Golden State Warriors due to an ankle injury he suffered suffered an injury after a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday evening.

After the game, Curry underwent an MRI, which showed no structural damage, just a strained left fibula. The team said it would be re-evaluated on Friday.

Golden State will play back-to-back home games against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday and Wednesday. Their next game after Curry’s re-evaluation is Saturday in Houston.

Curry left for good with 7:55 left in the fourth quarter defeat 112:104.

Curry briefly returned to the game with 8:08 left and was close to Kris Dunn’s defense when he cut away from Dunn toward the baseline and re-injured his ankle as he appeared to be rolling to the outside. The incident occurred near the end of the Golden State bench, after which the player limped into the tunnel leading to the locker room.

It was 2:43 into the third quarter when Curry limped to the bench and sat out the rest of the quarter.

The two-time MVP and NBA all-time 3-point leader finished with 18 points, six assists and four rebounds, while also making 6 of 11 shots and four three-pointers.

Curry, 36, is entering his 16th NBA season and regularly struggles with ankle problems in both feet.

Also on Monday, the Warriors said that after Sunday’s game, defenseman De’Anthony Melton underwent an MRI on a strained lower back and found no structural damage. He will also be re-evaluated on Friday.
