The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person killed in Friday’s crash

Clay County, Neb. (KSNB) – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person killed in Friday’s accident involving a vehicle and a BNSF freight train.

The person was identified as 41-year-old Nathan Schumm, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said the crash occurred near Routes 318 and P around 5 p.m. Schumm was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Assisting in the incident were the Sutton Police Department, BNSF Police, Nebraska State Patrol, Harvard Fire and Rescue Department and Clay County Emergency Management.
