ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. — The Accomack County School District announced how much money it will pay its ousted principal.

The district’s website says Dr. Rhonda Hall will receive a severance package of approximately $87,000. The announcement reads:

“Pursuant to the requirements of Virginia Code 15.2-1510.1, the Accomack County School Board announces that Superintendent Rhonda Hall will receive severance pay in the amount of $87,280.30.”

As News 3 reported last week, the school board voted to fire Hall by a 5-4 vote.

The board never explained the reason, but the Virginia Department of Education criticized Hall for the way she responded to an alleged shooting threat from a student.
