Lakeside woman identified as victim of Lake Henshaw crash

Authorities have publicly identified a 54-year-old woman who died two weeks ago in a single-vehicle crash on a rural highway near Lake Henshaw.

According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, Robin Blankinship of Lakeside lost control of a 2014 Toyota Sienna she was driving on state Route 76 in the Morettis Junction area just before 5 p.m. on October 16.

The eastbound vehicle left the roadway about a half-mile east of Mesa Grande Road, struck several trees and overturned, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said.

Blankinship died at the scene of the crash.
