:UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has pardoned Zamalek players Mostafa Shalaby and Nabil Emad and the Egyptian club’s sports director Abdel Wahed El Sayed after each of them was sentenced to one-month prison sentences for assault during a match in the United Arab Emirates, – Emirates News (WAM) reported on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court handed down prison terms and 200,000 dirhams ($55,000) after three men got into a fight with a stadium organizer during this month’s Egyptian Super Cup semi-final at the Al Nahyan pitch in Abu Dhabi.

On October 20, Zamalek defeated Pyramids 5-4 in a penalty shootout.

“The President of the country pardons the accused in connection with the events of the football match in which the Egyptian clubs Zamalek and Pyramids gathered in Abu Dhabi, based on the brotherly relations between the Emirates and Egypt,” WAM announced in a report published on the X website.

The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports earlier said on its Facebook page: “The Egyptian state ends the Zamalek trio crisis within hours.”
