Students are not allowed to go outside while police investigate the gun “incident” at Jay

JAY, Maine (WMTW) – Jay police are investigating what they’re calling a “gun violence incident” Tuesday morning.

Although the incident did not take place on school grounds or involve schools or students, schools were asked not to allow children outside until the suspect was caught.

Late Tuesday morning, police told our media partner WMTW that they believed the suspect had been caught and had lifted all restrictions on local schools.
