Harris volunteers say a Trump supporter threatened them in St. Claire Shores

Police arrested a man after he allegedly made threats and harassed volunteers at a local Democratic club in St. Claire Shores.

The suspect allegedly told a group of Democratic supporters that Donald Trump would “exterminate” them. On October 12, a driver cursed at volunteers and recklessly passed them in the parking lot of the Bruce Post VFW.

“He went back to the car and started saying, ‘FU FU FU.’ He called me an (expletive) and another woman (expletive),” said Michael Denomee, a volunteer with the Democratic Club of St. Claire Shores.

Democratic volunteers were shocked, to say the least. Trump tents have been set up in the VFW parking lot in the past, but this was Democratic week.

“I was standing on that line and he hit the brakes on that line,” he said. “But we still avoided the road because we had no idea whether it would hit us or not.”

“This is definitely politically motivated violence,” said Melissa Crook, a Democratic Club volunteer.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was captured on camera in the Mercedes he was driving and then ran out of the VFW parking lot, but officers seized his license plate. Police in St. Clair Shores made the arrest.

“I imagine he was heavily influenced by (former President) Donald J. Trump’s rhetoric,” said Melissa Crook,

The man is believed to be innocent and there is no current evidence that he supports Trump, but the Macomb County prosecutor is reviewing the potential case and he will likely face charges of assault and possibly ethnic intimidation.

FOX 2: “Some may argue that he is not representative of all Trump supporters, he is just one person who got off balance.”

“People are certainly saying this, and while there is some truth to it, unfortunately the person they are voting for is saying all this,” Crook said.

Producer’s note: Trump he never said he would exterminate Harris voters.

“If I were a judge, based on what he said about extermination, I would want him to visit the camps at Auschwitz and Dachau and things like that,” Denomme said. “I think he would benefit from this a lot more than jail.”
