Police release more information about a motorcycle accident that killed a 57-year-old man

A fatal motorcycle crash earlier this month killed a 57-year-old man in Las Vegas, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Jersom Nolasco Briones, 57, died at a hospital Oct. 12 after losing control of his 2019 Indian FTR 1200 while traveling southbound on State Route 160, north of mile marker 22, around 11:12 a.m., investigators say.

The rollover occurred about 20 miles west of Las Vegas. For unknown reasons, Briones drove off the road to the right and drove onto the dirt shoulder. He was ejected when the motorcycle overturned.

Police said Briones was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Nevada Highway Patrol’s Southern Command investigated 60 fatal crashes that resulted in 68 deaths in 2024.
