Worker dies in construction accident in Bay Park – San Diego Union-Tribune

Authorities have publicly identified a 40-year-old construction worker who died over the weekend in an accident involving heavy machinery at a construction site in the Bay Park neighborhood.

Cesar Abarca Carillo, of San Diego, was struck by an excavator at a construction site on Morena Boulevard near Littlefield Street around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the county medical examiner’s office.

Paramedics took the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the agency said.
