Man arrested after Huddersfield suspected shooting

A man has been arrested after another man was injured in a suspected shooting.

Police said the 50-year-old victim was shot in the leg after the man drove up in a gray Seat Ibiza on Wasps Nest Road in Huddersfield and “discharged a suspected firearm” before fleeing.

The injured man has already left the hospital.

West Yorkshire Police said a 33-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was in custody.

West Yorkshire Police has asked anyone who saw the incident, which took place at around 08:50 GMT on Monday, to contact officers.

Det Ch Insp James Entwistle said: “There are still a number of active inquiries into this incident and we are currently arresting a man on suspicion of attempted murder.”
