Warning after Greater Manchester firefighters attacked with fireworks

The service said more than 1,100 fires were deliberately set during the same period, and emergency services also reported 1,017 fraudulent phone calls.

Kate Green, deputy mayor of Greater Manchester, said anti-social behavior “will not be tolerated”.

Incidents include fake calls “that distract firefighters from responding to more serious incidents, and attacks on emergency workers who are trying to help,” she added.
