The BEST submachine guns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The BEST submachine guns in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

New every year Call of Duty an extremely powerful submachine gun appears and appears every year. To be fair to Black Ops 6, the weapon balance seems pretty decent and no weapons break the game and there are a lot of weapons in BO6.

Assault rifles are currently strong in BO6, but that doesn’t mean other weapons can’t hold their own. The recent patch changes this didn’t impact the meta in any way, which really highlights how decent the gun balance is in this game.

Call of Duty has always had two dominant weapons that control the pace of the game and the meta better than any other. Assault rifles and submachine guns. Assault rifles for those who like to play slowly and submachine guns for those who like to play fast.

There are 6 submachine guns in Black Ops 6. Here’s every submachine gun ranked from best to worst in Black Ops 6:

Jackal PDW submachine gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Jackal PDW / Treyarch

The Jackal PDW is an absolute powerhouse in Black Ops 6. Gameplay-wise, it’s very similar to many of Treyarch’s top submachine guns like the VMP, MSMC, and Saug.

It has a high rate of fire, deals good damage and has a long range for its class of weapon. This weapon absolutely melts people in the right hands.

PP-919 submachine gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

PP-919 / Treyarch

It’s perhaps a bit surprising that it’s so high on the list. The PP-919 is not the typical type of submachine gun that usually works great in Call of Duty. It has a large magazine, low mobility and a lower rate of fire compared to other competing submachine guns.

The PP-919 is currently quite strong in BO6 and performs very well in basically any match against another SMG. It’s not as good against AR as the PDW, but it’s still a powerful option in the SMG class.

KSV submachine gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

KSV/Treyarch

The KSV is the workhorse of the SMG class in Black Ops 6. It doesn’t have the best range, mobility, damage, stability or anything for that matter. However, it has the best averages of all of these things. He’s not necessarily the best at anything, but he’s good at just about everything.

There are several situations in which a player may find himself in KSV where he feels he has no chance.

C9 submachine gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

C9 / Treyarch

The C9 is the typical standard “MP5 that isn’t technically an MP5” gun that many FPS games have. This is a good, solid option. It can kill quickly, has reasonable recoil and considerable range.

Unlike others, this C9 is really good at staying close to the target. Can control space well and block specific areas in and around targets.

Tanto .22 submachine gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Tanto .22 / Treyarch

The Tanto .22 is ranked fifth with an asterisk due to its strangeness. It has the longest range of all submachine guns, hits the hardest of all submachine guns, and has by far the slowest rate of fire.

This weapon is not actually a submachine gun. That being said, this weapon is quite strong right now. He was seen to consistently kill him in 3 shots without needing to shoot him in the head. It packs a really hard punch.

No matter how hard it hits, it doesn’t really do well at what an SMG is supposed to do well. This is not the best option for running up to players and engaging in close combat. This is not the best option for players who want to play as fast as possible.

In a vacuum, this is probably the best weapon on this list, but as an SMG it just doesn’t do what most people using an SMG would want.

Kompakt 92 submachine gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Compact 92/Treyarch

The Kompakt 92 has the highest rate of fire and the lowest range in the submachine gun class. Great submachine guns in Call of Duty are great in very close-range fights, but they also have a decent range.

The Ak 74u during the Cold War could kill ARs from all over the map. VMP could easily rip the AR off with a head glitch. The MP40 in Vanguard was an absolute nightmare to fight at any distance when wielded by the right player. Jackal PDW in BO6 is close to reaching this level. The Kompakt 92 doesn’t do this.

This weapon is terrifying up close, but as soon as the player is caught in an unfavorable place, he simply dies.
