Student Mass. charged in connection with stabbing, another student hospitalized

Police said students at Goodrich Academy in Fitchburg were released after a campus lockdown in connection with the stabbing and arrest of a student Wednesday afternoon.

A 15-year-old student has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police Capt. Christopher Garcia said in a statement to MassLive.

Garcia said police arrived at the school around 1:59 p.m. for a reported assault. Officers immediately observed the student, who had been stabbed before being taken to hospital. The student’s injuries were not life-threatening.
