1 dead, 1 injured after shooting on Sawbranch Trail: DCSO

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) — One person is dead and another was taken to the hospital following a shooting on Sawbranch Trail near the Newington Subdivision Pool Tuesday night in Summerville, Lt. Chaz Easterlin said.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting occurred around 8:15 p.m.

Local law enforcement has not released any suspect information, and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the deceased.

The Summerville Police Department, Dorchester County Emergency Medical Services and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are assisting in the investigation.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
