Jay Duplass’s “I’ll See You When I See You” starring Cooper Raiff

EXCLUSIVE: Over a decade after his last outing as a feature film director Do-Deca-Pentathlon, Jay Duplass he’s back behind the camera See you when I see youa comedy family drama in which he will star Cooper Raiff (Cha Cha Truly smooth), David Duchovny (California), HopeDavis (Inheritance), Kaitlyn Dever (Book Wise), Lucy Boyton (“Bohemian Rhapsody”.), I Ariel Barer (How to blow up a pipeline).

An exploration of the complexities of grief and healing, currently in production in Atlanta, See you when I see you the script was written by actor, comedian and writer Adam Cayton-Holland (Those who can’t). The film is inspired by Cayton-Holland’s acclaimed memoir Tragedy plus time: tragicomic memorieswinner of the 2019 Colorado Book Award in the Creative Non-Fiction category, which explores the impact of his younger sister Lydia’s suicide on him and his family.

Jay Duplass called the project “the kind of deeply personal dramatic comedy that I grew up with and that made me want to be a filmmaker in the first place.”

Fully financed by Astute Films, See you when I see you Producers are Astute President Fred Bernstein, Cayton-Holland, and Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon of Winter Coat Films. Executive producers include Rick Jackson, as well as Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass and Mel Eslyn of Duplass Brothers Productions. Jeff David co-produces, Shuli Harel serves as co-executive producer and CAA Media Finance represents sales.

Next to his brother Mark, with whom he runs Duplass Brothers Productions, Jay is one of the most influential voices in independent cinema, whose directors include, among others, Do-Deca-Pentatlon, Jeff, who lives at home, Cyrus, Bagheadand the effort to escape A fluffy chair. Prolific producer who co-created Together AND Room 104 for HBO, he is also well known for his role in many films and television series, including: Transparent, Mindy’s Project, Beatriz at dinnerAND Landline phone.

Cayton-Holland is probably best known for his work with comedy trio The Grawlix and their television series Those who can’ttruTV’s first feature-length scripted comedy. He co-created and starred in this comedy series with fellow comedians Ben Roy and Andrew Orvedahl.

Emerging actor and filmmaker Raiff has already cast Duplass in his breakthrough film Snotwhich won the Grand Jury Prize at SXSW in 2020 and was distributed in North America by IFC Films. He continued this video Cha Cha Truly smooththe acclaimed romantic drama he wrote, directed and starred alongside Dakota Johnson, which won the Sundance Audience Award in the US Dramatic Competition and was later released by Apple. His next project, which will soon see the light of day, will be a vibrant, independently financed television series Hal and Harperin which he stars alongside Mark Ruffalo and Lili Reinhart.

Duchovny recently adapted his novel Fucking Bucky Dent for the Tribeca premiere Reverse the cursein which he stars alongside Stephanie Beatriz, Pamela Adlon and Logan Marshall-Green. It was also recently seen on HBO A sympathizerrecently wrapping up production on an Amazon thriller series Malice.

Davis leaves his role in Wes Anderson’s film Asteroid City and such recognized series as Inheritance, Perry MasonAND Your Honor. She will next be seen opposite Jeff Daniels, Jared Harris and JK Simmons in SK Global’s period drama Reykjavik.
