80 cm of snow fell on Whistler Blackcomb

80 cm of snow fell on Whistler Blackcomb

Good news for those looking forward to hitting the slopes as soon as the season starts: Whistler Blackcomb says a decent amount of snow is already falling.

According to the resort, about 80 centimeters of fresh snow fell on the world-famous ski jumps in the last 72 hours.

Additionally, since October 16, workers have been making snow on the runs and have produced enough white manure to cover 15 football fields one foot deep.

If flakes continue to fall, we hope that alpine landscapes will look much different than last winter, when El Nino conditions left many B.C. mountains bare.

Barring favorable weather conditions, Whistler Blackcomb will open to skiers and snowboarders on November 22.
