Many school districts in Newaygo County are operating in a safe mode during the investigation

GRANT, Mich. — At least two school districts in Newaygo County entered safe mode early Thursday afternoon as law enforcement investigates a threat complaint.

Information on the situation is limited, but a Newaygo County Emergency Management alert indicates that students at Grant and Newaygo schools are being kept at home for their safety. The alert says everyone on district campuses is safe.

Parents and guardians are advised not to come to schools during this time. All external doors are locked and no one is allowed to enter or leave the buildings.

No details about the threat have been provided yet.
