Sevierville police say a man is dead after a possible collision with a pedestrian on I-40

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A pedestrian is dead after possibly being hit by a car on I-40, according to the Sevierville Police Department.

Department officials said Thursday that officers were called near Exit 407 about a person lying on the side of the interstate around 10:20 p.m. According to SPD, when officers arrived they found 61-year-old Craig Olcott alive but motionless.

SPD stated that Olcott suffered injuries consistent with a car accident, adding that Olcott died later that night at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

The death is under investigation.
