Driver dead in Linn County – Agathequelquejay

LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says a driver involved in a crash earlier this month has died.

Authorities received a report of an accident that occurred on October 20 at 3:20 a.m. at the intersection of Monticello Road and Prairieburg Road. They say Chad Landas, 48, of Hopkinton, drove his blue Mercury Sable off the road and into a farm field.

Landas was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Deputies say he became trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed. An air ambulance took him to the University of Iowa Medical Center, where he died on October 31.

The sheriff’s office says he was wearing a seat belt. The crash remains under investigation.
