A woman murdered on Sunday in the Sulphur district has been identified

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – The Woman Who Was shot and killed in the Sulphur district on Sunday was identified.

Sulfur Police received a call on October 27 at approximately 11 p.m. to a home on Pipers Lane.

Sulphur Police spokesman Jason Gully said officers found Tasha Almanza inside the home with a gunshot wound and began life-saving measures.

Almanza was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and later died from her injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
