Former President Donald Trump returns to Arizona to suspend his campaign

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Former President Donald Trump returned to Arizona for a fifth time in his 2024 presidential campaign.

The visit showed that Arizona remains a battleground state, with the Republican candidate claiming he will put an end to problems that have arisen under the current administration.

Trump told a full house at Arizona State University’s Mullett Arena how he would end illegal immigration and said the situation had gotten worse under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, a Trump opponent.

He called the country a “failed nation” and said illegal immigration from 181 countries had made the United States “the garbage can of the world.”

Trump said he would hire 10,000 additional Border Patrol agents and raise current ones by 10%.

He spoke for almost an hour and focused on illegal immigration and called it an invasion that the current administration is encouraging.

“They’re going to destroy your Social Security, among other things, they’re going to destroy our country, so, you know, that’s the whole point. If you want your Medicare to be robbed by 21 million illegal aliens until there’s nothing left, and by the way, if they get in, the border will open immediately. You will have 200 million,” said the crowd.

Trump also repeated his campaign promises to eliminate tip and Social Security taxes and announced an end to the war in Ukraine.

He pushed for early voting and getting others to vote so that the vote would be “too big to be rigged.”
