An absurd one-handed touchdown catch from a New York Jets Superstar

New York Jets winger Garrett Wilson gave fans a memorable catch in the game third quarter one-handed catch that resulted in a touchdown.

He went up one in the fourth quarter for one of the most amazing scores you’ll ever see.

Wilson had a hot streak on third down in one game against the A’s Houston, Texas cornerback and quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw the ball toward the back of the end zone.

Wilson turned and grabbed the ball with his right hand, much like Odell Beckham Jr. did New York Giants a few years ago at MetLife Stadium.

After the throw-in, Wilson lowered his left foot and then his left shin before his left knee went out of bounds. This allowed him to lower his right leg and complete the grab.

However, the catch was ruled incomplete on the field and the Jets had to contest the play. Within minutes, the tide turned and Wilson scored his second touchdown of the game on the most acrobatic catch Jets fans had seen in years.

The score gave New York a 14-10 lead.

Earlier in the game, Wilson made a one-handed catch that led to a touchdown, but it wasn’t as acrobatic as his second field goal.

On that play, which resulted in a 70-yard field goal, Rodgers found Wilson on the left side of the field. The ball was slightly out of Wilson’s reach, but he was able to pull it with his right hand and bring it back to his body to complete the catch, then easily ran to the end zone for the game-clinching score.

Wilson, the 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year who is on pace to have his third straight 1,000-yard season, had a tremendous night as New York navigated a football shortstop due to two injuries in the game.

Defender John Simpson suffered a groin injury and Jake Hanson suffered a hamstring injury. This saw debutant Olu Fashanu take Hanson’s place at right back, while Max Mitchell slipped into left cover to replace Simpson.

The Jets are without Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle), starting right guard and versatile backup Xavier Newman, who is on reserve with a neck injury.

During the game, New York lost edge rusher Will McDonald IV late in the first half to what the Jets said was an ankle injury.

New York also placed veteran winger Allen Lazard on injured reserve Thursday with a chest injury.
