Wanted woman arrested outside Motel 6; drunk woman passes out behind the wheel: middleburg heights police bulletin

MIDDLEBURG Heights, Ohio –

Arrest warrant issued, forgery: Bagley Road

Wanted Cleveland woman, 37, was arrested around midnight Oct. 19 on Bagley.

A license plate camera alerted police that Bagley was driving a Chevrolet SUV, whose owner was wanted on drug possession and trafficking charges, near Engle Road.

Police observed an SUV parked in front of Five Guys, 17695 Bagley. They saw the driver – later identified as a Cleveland woman – walking toward the Motel 6, 7219 Engle. She didn’t own the SUV, which was a man.

Police parked and watched the SUV. When the woman returned, they asked her where the owner of the vehicle was. She said he went to a nearby speedway track.

Police checked the Speedway, but the owner of the SUV was not there. Meanwhile, the woman initially gave a false identity to the police. She did not match the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles photo showing the name she had provided.

Police realized that the woman had used the same false ID in a previous crime. Once they identified her, they learned that several warrants had been issued for her arrest.

Driving under the influence: Bagley Road and Interstate 71

An intoxicated Cleveland woman, 32, was arrested around 2 a.m. Oct. 20 after she passed out behind the wheel of an SUV stopped at the Bagley-I-71 intersection.

Someone called police and said the SUV didn’t move for about five minutes. When police arrived, the SUV was still parked even though the traffic light was green.

The woman was sleeping in the SUV. Her foot was on the brake and the gear lever was engaged. The driver’s side window was half down.

Officers reached the SUV through the window but were unable to reach the start button. They woke up the confused woman.

Police told the woman to park the SUV. The SUV slowly moved forward. Police ordered the woman to put her foot back on the brake and again told her to park the vehicle.

The SUV started to reverse. The police again insisted that the woman press the brake pedal and park the vehicle. This time she did.

The woman smelled of alcohol. Her speech was slurred and her eyes were bloodshot and glassy. When police released the woman from the vehicle, they noticed she had urinated in her pants.

The woman almost fell several times while walking. She failed field sobriety tests. Police found a half-full bottle of alcohol in the SUV.

Theft: Nethersole Drive

A parcel containing an $800 Apple Watch was either stolen from the doorstep of a Nethersole home or never arrived.

The victim stated that she was at home when the package was allegedly delivered by FedEx around 4:15 p.m. on October 17. She said she didn’t hear a knock on the door the moment FedEx announced it had delivered the package.

The tracking information from FedEx included a photo of the victim’s home, but the photo did not include the package.

Wrong number plates: Bagley Road

A 34-year-old Cleveland woman was called around 12:30 a.m. Oct. 23 after police caught her driving a Chrysler Town & Country pickup truck with Honda license plates.

The van stopped on Bagley near Pearl Road. The hazard lights were flashing. The woman said the van belonged to a friend.

The police towed the car and removed the plates.
