A Bessemer man died after a shooting Thursday evening

BESEMER, Alabama (WBRC) – Bessemer police are investigating a homicide after a shooting Thursday night that left one man dead.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Tavares Deone Moore, 44, was shot during a reported assault just before 9 p.m.

The shooting occurred in the 2900 block of 9th Avenue North in Bessemer.

Police stated that when they arrived at the scene, Moore had multiple gunshot wounds.

Medics treated him at the scene and he was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
