I-95 NB was closed in northwest Miami-Dade after a fatal crash

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – All northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Northwest 119th Street in Miami-Dade County were closed Friday morning after a fatal crash, authorities said.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, a blue Dodge SUV was traveling north on the highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a concrete barrier wall.

“As a result, the Dodge became disabled and stopped, blocking the roadway,” Camacho said in an email to Local 10 News. “An oncoming black Honda sedan collided with a Dodge and several passengers standing in the roadway.”

Camacho said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

“I-95 northbound is currently closed and traffic is being diverted to NW 103 ST,” Camacho said.
