Two charged after a minor was hit by a car after a fight in Camden County

Two people have been charged in connection with a disturbance that resulted in a juvenile being hit by a car in Camden County.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that they were called to Westpark Drive on Tuesday evening.

After arriving at the scene, they found the juvenile.

He suffered serious injuries and emergency crews took him to hospital, where his condition was last reported to be serious but stable.

Deputies said witnesses told them Chasimus Quinn, 36, of Springfield, threatened several people in the area with a gun, including the victim.

When the victim’s parents confronted Quinn, 34-year-old Ashley Coleman of Springfield struck the victim with her car.

Witnesses said the two ran into a nearby residence.

Deputies arrested Quinn and Coleman. They said they found a gun matching witness descriptions.

Prosecutors charged Quinn with first-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and armed criminal action.

On Thursday, he pleaded guilty to the charges against him in court.

Coleman was charged with first-degree assault – serious physical injury or committing a crime of particular cruelty, and armed criminal offenses.

On Thursday, she also submitted a statement in which she admitted her guilt.

Both are being held without bond in the Camden County Jail.
