1 person dead after accident in Chicopee

CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – One person was killed in a crash in Chicopee involving a tractor-trailer.

First Avenue has been closed to traffic following the crash, causing some traffic congestion on Burnett Road, so police are asking drivers to avoid the area.

When our crew arrived on scene, the accident involved a tractor-trailer and at least one other vehicle. Chicopee police confirmed there was a fatality.

Chicopee Police, Massachusetts State Police, Hampden County Sheriff’s Office and MassDOT are on scene.
