1 person dead, 2 people in hospital after crash on Bardstown Road

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A woman is dead and two men are in the hospital after a crash on Bardstown Road Friday afternoon.

Louisville police were called to the scene of the accident on October 25 at 1:10 p.m. According to the initial investigation and witness statements, the man was driving northbound on Bardstown Road at a high rate of speed and collided with an SUV turning from Bardstown. Falls Road.

Only the driver was in the vehicle, but a man and a woman were in the SUV. The woman died at the scene, and the man driving the SUV was helped out of the truck by firefighters and taken to UofL Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle exited his vehicle without assistance and was also taken to UofL Hospital, where he is believed to be alive.

LMPD said the crash created a large debris field and blocked both lanes of traffic on Bardstown Road. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. The LMPD Traffic Unit will lead the investigation.
