Teen shot, man injured in shooting rampage in DC

A 16-year-old boy was killed and another man was injured in Friday’s shooting DC Police looking for answers.

According to Deputy Chief LaShay Makal, around 4:30 p.m., officers were canvassing the 2700 block of Langston Place SE when they were approached by a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

While officers were rendering aid, they heard shots fired nearby and ran to the 2800 block, where they found the teenage victim.

Both victims were taken to hospital, but the teenager could not be saved.

Authorities are currently searching for a black male suspect, dressed entirely in black with white writing on the back, who was last seen fleeing the scene on foot.

“This is still in the early stages of the investigation and we need the community’s help,” Makal said.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information to come forward as work continues to track down the perpetrator.
