Fatal motorcycle crash near Summerlin

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – Las Vegas Metro Police say one person is dead after a motorcycle collided with an SUV.

On October 25, just after 3 p.m., police responded to a report of an accident on El Capitan Way south of Saddle Avenue.

According to police witness statements and surveillance footage, a black Jeep Grand Cherokee was leaving a private driveway heading northbound when a white 150cc Yiben motorcycle approached.

Reports indicate that the driver was ejected after hitting the left front of the Jeep.

Doctors determined that the motorcyclist died on the spot.

According to LVMPD, there was no suspicion that the driver of the Jeep was under the influence of alcohol and was cooperative with police.

To date, this fatality is the 128th traffic-related death in the Las Vegas metro jurisdiction in 2024.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
