Man arrested for repeatedly raping 16-year-old daughter in Saharanpur – India News

According to PTI, a man was arrested in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on charges of repeatedly raping his 16-year-old daughter.

According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain, the incident came to light on Thursday when the victim approached the police station and narrated the harrowing ordeal she had undergone. The girl revealed that her mother died ten years ago, leaving her exposed to abuse from her father.

Jain further stated that the victim had earlier confided to her family members about the sexual assault, but the Panchayat’s intervention did not deter the accused. Undeterred, the father continued to commit these heinous acts, often resorting to physical violence to silence his daughter.

Following the complaint, an FIR was lodged against the accused and the victim was sent for medical examination. The police immediately arrested the perpetrator, and further investigations are currently underway.
