One dies after being stung by a hornet in Panchthar

A man died due to a hornet sting in Panchthar district.

The deceased has been identified as Subharaj Tumrok, 26, of Phidim-6 Municipality, Shiva, Panchthar District.

Tumrok was bitten by hornets on October 23 while trying to remove the hive. Despite initial treatment at a local medical center, he failed to recover. He died at home while arrangements were being made to transport him to the district headquarters for further care, said Benilal Sah, spokesman for Panchthar district police.

The body has been shifted to Panchthar Hospital for post-mortem and preparations are underway to hand it over to the family, Sah added.
