3 people were taken to hospital after a chain collision on SLE involving 5 vehicles

SINGAPORE – Three people were taken to hospital after two motorcycles they were riding were involved in an accident with cars on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) on the morning of October 26.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) were informed of the accidents on the SLE towards Bukit Timah Expressway, before the Turf Club Avenue exit, at around 9.30am.

Police said two passenger cars, two motorcycles and a taxi were involved in the incident.

Three people – two motorcyclists, aged 29 and 31, and a 40-year-old woman on the back seat – were taken to Woodlands Health Campus while conscious, police and SCDF said.

Two passenger car drivers, aged 27 and 49, are assisting in police investigations.

A video posted on Facebook by SG Road Vigilante shows that the motorcycle collisions – two different incidents – happened a few seconds apart and several cars apart.

The first incident shows the motorcyclist colliding with a gray car in front as it tries to change lanes.

This will cause the motorcyclist and his motorcycle to immediately overturn. The driver stops a few seconds later, exits the vehicle and walks towards the motorcycle as its driver limps off the road.

The same video shows another collision – recorded from another car’s dash cam – occurring moments later, when an SUV collides with the motorcyclist and his passenger as traffic comes to a halt after the first crash.

Police investigations are ongoing.
