The charity raised 330,000. pounds at the Waddle of Worcester penguin auction

Matt Baker of Compco Fire Systems said he wanted to buy a Kingfisher Azure penguin after it was vandalized and thrown into a river near his workplace.

“He can live happily for the rest of his life and we just hope we can keep him safe,” he said.

He said it was important to support the hospice because many of its staff had connections with the charity.

“Our previous managing director spent his final days at St Richard’s, so it is a charity close to our hearts and one we want to support in the future,” he added.
