There was a fatal two-vehicle crash in Marion County. Road closed

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A man was killed Saturday morning in Marion County.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers said the crash occurred on Northeast 160th Avenue Road, south of Northeast 180th Street.

It is unknown whether the victim, a 64-year-old Fort McCoy man, was wearing a seat belt while driving his sedan.

The second vehicle was a pickup truck driven by two men wearing seatbelts, ages 58 and 82, from Lutz and Tampa, respectively.

The press release did not provide any additional information about how the crash occurred.

The roadway remained closed while FHP troopers investigated the accident. It reopened about 4 hours later.

The lead investigator on this case is FHP Corporal M. Baker.
