The principal of South Walton High School releases a statement regarding an accident that involved multiple students

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A statement from the principal of South Walton High School was released Saturday afternoon after a disaster that resulted in the death of many students injured at school.

The statement reads:

Seahawk families:

We are aware of a car accident that occurred last night involving three students from our Seahawk School and a student from Destin High School. As of this morning, all South Walton HS students are receiving medical care at local hospitals.

I personally communicated with Seahawk families overnight and early this morning, letting them know we are here as a community, supporting them with our thoughts and prayers. This is very taxing on our students, community and staff, but we will come together as a family.

As a mother of teenage children, I encourage you to monitor what your students watch on social media because misinformation is circulating. When your child returns to school on Monday, resources will be available, including counseling support, during this difficult time.

Please remember all families in your thoughts and prayers.

We are from south Walton!
