Police arrested a man who distributed overdose drugs

London police say they have arrested a man allegedly responsible for a string of non-fatal overdoses that led to this Friday’s safety alert afternoon.

Police say a man in a red sedan was handing out a free substance to several people in the area of ​​Queens Avenue and Adelaide Street North.

To assist with the investigation, London police provided area authorities with a detailed description of the suspect and the vehicle.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday, Strathroy-Cardoc Police found the suspect in the area of ​​Second Street and Center Road in Strathroy.

However, Strathroy police said the suspect fled in his vehicle.

Toronto police then reported that they had located the suspect in Etobicoke.

Around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, the suspect was arrested. No injuries were reported.

A 26-year-old Thornhill man has been charged with “resisting arrest”, “failure to stop for police/pursuit” and “schedule I traffic”.

Police are reminding anyone who may have received a free substance from the accused not to consume or use it and to contact LPS.

The investigation is ongoing.
