Trump vows at a rally in Pennsylvania to lower gas prices, lift the pause on LNG and “frack, frack, frack”

Former President Trump vowed Saturday to cut U.S. energy costs in half if re-elected, using oil and gas policies to draw a sharp contrast with Kamala Harris in the key swing state of Pennsylvania.

Trump addresses voters at a rally in State College he promised to lift the US pause at U.S. liquefied natural gas export terminals, agree to fracking and otherwise reverse what he described as “disastrous” energy policies put in place during the Biden administration.

“From day one of my new administration, I will end Kamala Harris’s war on Pennsylvania energy,” Trump told the crowd. “And we will frack, crack, crack.”

Fracking, the process of using pressurized fluids to extract natural gas from shale rocks, is a controversial technology that Harris previously promised to ban during his 2019 presidential bid.

However, fracking is necessary to access the vast gas reserves hidden in Pennsylvania. The state is not only a key battleground state with 19 electoral votes. It is also the second largest producer of natural gas in the US

While Harris has repeatedly reiterated her support for fracking during the campaign this election cycle, some Republicans and gas groups have sought further reassurances from the campaign as Election Day approaches, citing the four years mixed news they saw under Biden.

In the absence of this clarity, Trump himself tried to fill the gaps in Harris’s policy.

Harris, he said Saturday, “has been against fracking my whole life.” Trump told the audience he was against “anything that has to do with the underground.”

“She will build a windmill,” he said, “to kill all your birds.”

Trump blames Harris for what he sees as the Biden administration’s failures on U.S. oil and gas production, including an over-focus on electric vehicle production and production, closing aging power plants and spike in energy priceswhich increased by as much as 50% in the Keystone State.

He described the halt on U.S. natural gas exports ordered by President Biden in January as a “Kamala ban.”

Trump promised that everything would change during his second term.

“Your energy prices will be halved within 12 months, starting on January 20, when we take over,” he told a packed stand of fans who responded with thunderous applause.

Some people lined up outside the central Pennsylvania arena for hours to hear Trump speak, well before the doors opened at noon and nearly six hours before he finally danced onto the stage.

Several attendees said they had been waiting since dawn to meet Trump, and the former commander-in-chief’s promises didn’t seem to disappoint them, if their cheers were any indication.

“We will fix this very quickly,” Trump told the audience. “Kamala broke it, I’ll fix it.”

Democrats, he said, “are at war with your commonwealth like never before.”

“They destroyed your steel mills, decimated your coal jobs, attacked your oil and gas jobs, and sold your manufacturing jobs to China and other foreign countries around the world.

“You will go back to the Trump administration.”

Trump promised to fix what he described as the Biden administration’s “disgusting failures” in the energy sector and beyond.

“This will be America’s golden age,” he said, “and every problem we face will be solved.”
