“Lady Don” arrested for involvement in the shooting at a Burger King in Delhi, which resulted in the death of 1 person

On Friday, Delhi Police arrested a 19-year-old woman for her alleged involvement in approximately shooting at Burger King at Rajouri Nagar in Delhi on June 18. According to police, Annu Dhankar was arrested at the India-Nepal border on Friday afternoon.

Dhankar allegedly helped Himanshu Bhau’s gang in the shootout that killed 26-year-old Aman Joon of another gang.

According to a Hindustan Times report, Dhankar lured the victim, suspected gang member Ashok Pradhan, to a Burger King outlet on the pretext of dating and occupied him until two assailants arrived and shot him.

There were over 50 customers and 10 employees inside the establishment when the attackers fired at least 25 bullets at Joona.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Dhankar is the prime accused, said Amit Kaushik, deputy commissioner of police (special cell). She called Joon to meet her and broke the news to her supposed boyfriend, Bhau.

Bhau confessed to the murder on social media, claiming that Joon was involved in the murder of their co-star Shakti Dad in 2020.

Two of the attackers involved in the shooting were killed in a clash with police in July, while Dhankar managed to escape. Police said she was last seen in CCTV footage at Katra railway station a day after the murder.

She had been hiding in paid guest accommodation in Kota for the last four months, a second officer said. Since she was 19 years old and looked like a student, it was easy to hide her and no one suspected anything because there were hundreds of students there, the officer said.

On Thursday, the police received information that Dhankar was spotted traveling in a bus from Kota, from where she reached Lucknow and further went to Lakhimpur Kheri. We were told it was approaching the Indo-Nepalese border. The team immediately rushed there and nabbed her near the border,” said DCP Kaushik.

Dhankar came on the police radar after the Sonipat shooting in January. According to police, she fled Rohtak after the incident and moved to Delhi.
