A fatal motorcycle crash has snarled traffic near a busy Gilbert intersection

GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — A fatal motorcycle crash snarled traffic near a busy Gilbert intersection Saturday evening.

Officers responded to a report of an accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle near Riggs Road and Val Vista Drive.

When police arrived at the scene, they found that the motorcycle driver had suffered serious injuries and the motorcycle’s passenger had died.

The motorcyclist was transported to hospital.

Traffic is closed on Riggs Road between 156th Street and Adora Boulevard.

No information was provided about the identities of the victims.

The police are currently investigating what caused the accident.
