Dwight Manfredi’s investigation reveals the truth behind the navigator’s explosion

“Life Support” begins with a doctor telling Tyson Mitchell and his family that Mark Mitchell survived the explosion. Since the plumber did not enter the damaged vehicle at all, the situation becomes nothing more than a near-death experience. Dwight Manfredi meets with his family at the hospital, but Tyson’s mother asks him to leave. A former mob capo driver is determined to get revenge on Bill Bevilaqua, believing that the Kansas City-based driver gangster is behind the attack. The general doesn’t want to rush into speculations and tries to calm down his right hand. Although he fails to bring Tyson back to his senses, he decides to find out who is behind the explosion.

Dwight first calls Chickie Invernizzi, but she denies any involvement in the predicament. The head of the New York mafia boasts that two bullets would have gone into the former capo’s head if he had wanted the latter killed. He then contacts Bevilaqua, who follows Chickie and explains that he has nothing to do with the attempted murder. Although his predecessor was involved in blowing up cars, he has apparently moved away from this practice. Despite this, Chickie scares him by saying that Dwight set his sights on the gangster. The General meets Armand “Manny” Truisi and asks him about Cal Thresher. Manny replies that he has no connection with the businessman, but his behavior exposes the lies.

Dwight pays a visit to Thresher himself. He scares his rival by revealing that he has identified the white car that followed Tyson before the explosion occurred. The businessman denies having such a vehicle and then denies it Jackie Minghis partner. A member of the Chinese triad reveals to Thresher that he is behind the explosion. To hide his involvement in the case for good, he kills his associate Hanjin and scraps the car in which he was following Tyson. However, the precaution proves to be too late, as Dwight has already found a company to register the vehicle through his former driving teacher, Paul.

Vince Antonacci plans to kill Chickie with the blessing of his associates

The relationship between Vince Antonacci and his boss Chickie deteriorates when the former attends a meeting in Atlanta in the mafia leader’s absence. As he fails to provide anything of value to “New York”, his master expresses his anger towards him. Vince has been afraid of Chickie ever since he suggested that he killed his father, Pete “The Rock” Invernizzi. His short-tempered nature worries his deputy, who talks to the mafia leader’s associates about killing him after forming an alliance with Dwight Manfredi. The elders at the crime scene in New York approve the plan because they love the General.

In the upcoming episodes, we may see Vince contact Dwight to kill Chickie. However, he may not get the answer he expects from the former mafia capo. The general has nothing to gain from this arrangement except deadly consequences. He built his own kingdom there Tulsawhich means he doesn’t have to interfere with the affairs of New York’s rulers. Mafia affairs in New York don’t seem lucrative enough to justify the risks of the plan. Moreover, Dwight’s principles may not allow him to stab Chickie in the back. If he wanted the current head of the Invernizzi family dead, the latter would have already died.

Dwight tries to build a strong relationship with both of them Margaret Devereaux and his daughter Tina. In the episode, he explains that he cannot control his impulses to meet the owner Fennario Ranch. His potential involvement in the attack may sabotage his community with his partner and the relationship he has rebuilt with his daughter. Therefore, he is expected to ignore Vince’s plans despite his potential offers to lure him onto the show.

Tyson Mitchell’s pursuit of revenge causes more problems for Dwight

When Dwight doesn’t respond immediately after the Navigator explodes, Tyson loses trust in his boss. He takes matters into his own hands and after meeting his father, he goes to Kansas City to kill Bill Bevilaqua. Mark calls on Dwight to stop his son, but before the General can intervene, Tyson presumably kills one of the KC mobster’s associates and flees the scene. His actions have put Dwight in a dangerous situation, as Bevilaqua now has a reason to take revenge on the new king of Tulsa. Although the gangster considers harming the General in the sixth episode of the second season, he changes his mind after finding out that the latter is a cash cow.

However, after what Tyson does, Bevilaqua may not tolerate Dwight intruding on his territory. Since the gangster’s revenge is now just, the General can’t even complain about him. If the former Mafia Capo says no to Vince, the door opens for a partnership between the latter and Bevilaqua. The two can join forces to kill Chickie and Dwight and become the new rulers of their territories, New York and Tulsa. To avoid such a headache, the General will have to appease his Kansas City counterpart, probably with more money.
