The victim in the recent 1987 Paola case has been identified

PAOLI, Okla. (KXII) – The victim in a cold case from 1987 in Paoli has been identified as 19-year-old Molly Monette Hogan.

In June 1987, the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate human remains found near Paola.

Over the years, the Office of the Medical Examiner and OSBI continued to work to identify these remains.

According to OSBI, the acquisition of advanced resources and tools during this time allowed OSBI forensic scientists to use investigative genetic genealogy to aid in the identification process.

The medical examiner’s office positively identified the victim as 19-year-old Molly Monette Hogan.

The cause and manner of her death are ongoing, and OSBI says the investigation is still ongoing.

If you knew Hogan or have additional information about this case, please contact OSBI at [email protected] or 1-800-522-8017.
