As the investigation deepened, authorities identified the alleged perpetrator as 24-year-old Hashim Dagane Muhumed.

“Detectives investigating the gruesome murders of three family members – a mother, a daughter and a 12-year-old niece – have identified the main suspect in these horrific murders, Hashim Dagane Muhumed, whose photo appears in this post,” the DCI said in a statement. statement.

How was the suspect in the Eastleigh murders identified?

According to DCI detectives, Dagane was “captured on CCTV driving a Nissan Note (reg. no. KDQ 718Y)”, which was seen picking up the victims from their home in Eastleigh on October 21, 2024, just hours before their bodies were discovered.

The vehicle was later found abandoned at the Wakulima Market near ul ENY coach it has since been towed to DCI headquarters for forensic examination, which provided further evidence linking Dagane to the murders.

In a related development, a woman who claimed to have been kidnapped he was arrested along with the victims.

DCI is now appealing to the public to come forward with any information regarding Dagane’s whereabouts to assist with the ongoing investigation.

“With one suspect in custody and assisting with the investigation, we are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist in the arrest of Hashim Dagane Muhumed,” the DCI appealed to the public.

Meanwhile, the government’s chief pathologist, Johansen Oduor, said the victims’ bodies had extensive injuries.

Daud’s mother experienced severe trauma with her severed hands and slit throat.

Her daughter, Abdirashid, was stabbed multiple times by her kidnappers. The third victim, Dahir, experienced sexual violence before she was ultimately strangled by her attackers.
