Miner (67) allegedly had sexual intercourse with a minor

Chester Thompson, a 67-year-old miner from Kaikan village, appeared in the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court today before His Holiness Rabindranauth Singh to answer to a charge of “sexual activity with a child under 16 years of age”, contrary to s. 11 section ) Sexual (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:03.
He did not have to plead guilty to the charges, and his bail was set at two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000).
The matter was adjourned to December 17, 2024 for submissions. The incident occurred on March 6, 2024.
