Helicopter Crash: NNPCL Provides Update on Rescue Efforts

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, said no other bodies had been recovered apart from the three bodies found in the ill-fated helicopter operated by East Winds Aviation that crashed in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

DAILY POST recalls that about eight people died after approx helicopter crashed into water in Port HarcourtRivers State, earlier this week.

Subsequently, about three bodies were recovered from the scene.

Giving an update on Sunday, NNPCL spokesperson Olufemi Soneye in a statement said five bodies were still missing.

He stated that intensified search and rescue operations are currently underway for the remaining bodies.

“Once again, our hearts and prayers are with the family members of this unfortunate event,” he added.
