There is only one safe prediction as we approach a bigger, bolder, and supposedly better College Football Playoff. The latest committee rankings will not be valid from Championship Saturday to Selection Sunday.

There will be too many ranked and ranked matches between now and then, making the committee’s work so far pointless. Plus, the four-team lineup has only been lined up twice in 10 years, with two weeks left in the regular season. Even in 2020 and 2022, the final order will change in this final window.
