A motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a multi-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in the city’s 7th District. According to police, the incident occurred around 3:32 p.m. at the intersection of Bustleton Avenue and Tomlinson Road.

Authorities said the motorcyclist, who was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed, collided with a vehicle turning left onto Tomlinson Road from the southbound lane. The collision resulted in two additional vehicles hitting the struck car from behind.

Emergency services transported the motorcyclist to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:24 p.m. The victim’s identity has not been revealed.

Police confirmed that no other injuries were reported. Crash Investigation Division (CID) investigators remained at the scene as of Friday evening.

The intersection remained secured while officers assessed the crash and removed the vehicles involved.
