Mother and son identified in connection with suspected murder-suicide

AMHERST TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – Investigators have identified the mother and child who were found dead in alleged murder-suicide in Amherst Township.

According to the press release issued by Lorain County Sheriff’s OfficeFirefighters arrived at the house around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

They found the bodies of 46-year-old Risa Louks and 9-year-old Alex Louks.

Investigators say Risa Louks shot her son Alex in the chest and then tried to set their house on fire.

The sheriff said Risa Louks then turned the gun on herself.

A gun was found at the scene.

The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office said Risa Louks is scheduled to interview Alex’s father for a detention hearing.

Investigators said no further information will be released at this time.

They said there was no previous call history associated with the family.
