Friday’s community suicide event

Friday’s community suicide event

The nonprofit REPS is hosting a community event on Friday from 4 to 6:30 p.m., honoring survivors of suicide, scheduled for the County Commissioners Boardroom at 522 Lincoln Ave., third floor, historic County Courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs.

The event is intended for suicide survivors, non-survivors, and interested community members to come together to find connection, understanding, and hope through shared experiences. The event program will include commemorative activities, film screening, group discussions and group reflections.

“International Suicide Survivors Day is a reminder that no one has to face their grief alone,” said Mindy Marriott, executive director of Reaching Every Preventing Suicide. “It is a day of connection, healing and honoring those we have lost while building a community of understanding and hope.”

“We look forward to coming together as a community to support and uplift each other,” says REPS.

Light snacks will be provided. Participants can pre-register on the REPS website at: NWCoSuicidePrevention.com to help organizers ensure that sufficient supplies will be available.
